SHUREN DOJO SHODO JUKU
JAPANESE CALLIGRAPHY FOR BEGINNERS
Ethan
Weisgard and Midoriko Ichinosawa Weisgard will teach a course in
Japanese calligraphy for beginners. The participants will learn the
basic strokes and brush techniques, and finally learn to right your name
in “katakana” phonetics. Other simple “kanji” ideograms will also be
taught. We will be using “fudepen” to write with. Fudepen is a Japanese
pen with a tip like a brush. The participants will be able to bring
their pen home with them afterwards. Japanese tea and snacks will be
served. Other beverages can be purchased in the bar.
There
is a limited amount of participants, so please contact us regarding your
participation.
