Studying Japanese Culture - part 3

I attempt to create an environment in my dojo where my students can share my passion for the wonderful cultural heritage of Japan. This is done by offering different courses during the training year, taught by Midoriko, myself and in certain cases, special guest instructors.
The courses that are held are:

Shodo (Japanese calligraphy): learning how to brush one’s own name in Katakana (one of the two phonetic writing forms in Japanese), and to write certain "kanji" ideograms.

Reigi (etiquette): for use in the dojo and in general (especially at the table!)

Nihongo (Japanese language): learning basic Japanese terms, for dojo use or general use.

Ryori (Japanese cooking): Homestyle cooking, homemade sushi and other types of Japanese food
