Traditional Aikido consists of two main elements: Taijutsu (empty handed
techniques) and Bukiwaza
(weapons training), encompassing Aiki Ken (sword) and Aiki
Jo (staff). Please refer to the "Riai" section of this
website for more information regarding this topic.
Basic
These classes cover the basics of aikido training. Basic
classes are open for all levels, but this is where beginners
can start their Aikido training. A wide range of basic level
techniques will be taught. By having the basic classes open
for all levels, beginners will have the chance to train with
and learn from more advanced practitioners right from the
start.
Bukiwaza
Weapons classes are open for members who have a good
foundation in their basic practice. This is usually from 6th
kyu and up, but depends on the individuals’ command of basic
movements.
Advanced
Advanced classes will be held for 3rd kyu levels and up.
These classes will give the higher ranked members a chance
to train more challenging parts of our large technical
curriculum.
Morning classes
Morning classes are from 09:30 - 10:30 on Mondays,
Wednesdays and Fridays. The classes are Basic - open for beginners. Wednesday classes are
weapons training.
